Synopsis: After suffering a concussion in a car accident on the Oregon coast, Stephen Elliott is carried to the home of an old man and his beautiful daughter-in-law to recover. The young woman tells Stephen that her husband, a World War II pilot, had died the year before and left an uncompleted musical composition, a model airplane and a piece of sculpture, as well as a strange will. Years later, Stephen has become famous as a sculptor and he meets two other men who had survived serious crashes near the same lighthouse, recovered in Allison’s home and gone on to remarkable careers in music and aircraft design. Stephen decides he must learn if this was merely coincidence or whether Allison’s husband’s will might have some connection with the three men’s subsequent brilliant careers.
